Our commitment

FarOut Detailz wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, speech input or other assistive technology.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We also recognise our obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth).

What we have done

• Keyboard access. Every interactive element, including the menu, gallery, filters and the booking form, can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. A visible focus outline shows where you are.
• Skip link. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing keyboard users reach, so you can bypass the navigation.
• Colour contrast. Body text, headings and interactive controls are tested against the WCAG AA contrast minimums of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and user interface components. Our brand purple is used as a background behind white text rather than as small text on a dark background, because that combination does not reach the required ratio.
• Text alternatives. Photographs of vehicles carry descriptive alt text. Images that are purely decorative are marked so screen readers skip them.
• Forms. Every field has a visible, permanently associated label. Required fields are marked in text, not by colour alone. Errors are announced to screen readers, described in words, and focus moves to the first field that needs attention.
• Headings and landmarks. Pages use a single main heading and a logical heading order, with header, navigation, main and footer landmarks.
• Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations and smooth scrolling are switched off.
• Zoom and reflow. The site works at 200 percent zoom and down to a 320 pixel wide viewport without horizontal scrolling.
• Plain buttons and links. Buttons say what they do, such as "Book Gold" or "Send Message", rather than "click here".
• Without JavaScript. All content, pricing and contact details remain readable with JavaScript turned off. The multi-step booking form needs JavaScript, so a notice with our phone number and email is shown in its place.

How this was tested

This site has been checked by its developer using keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom to 200 percent, a 320 pixel viewport, automated contrast calculation against the WCAG formula, and markup validation for correct labels, landmarks and heading order.

It has not yet been tested by people who use assistive technology day to day, and it has not been independently audited. We are being upfront about that rather than claiming a level of assurance we do not have. If you use a screen reader or other assistive technology and something does not work, telling us is genuinely useful.

Known limitations

• The booking form requires JavaScript. If you cannot use it, call or email us and we will take your booking directly.
• The background video on the home page plays automatically and silently. It is hidden from screen readers and pauses if your device requests reduced motion, but it cannot currently be stopped manually.
• Some gallery photographs show subtle paint defects that are difficult to describe fully in alt text. If you would like a description of a specific result, ask us and we will describe it for you.

Booking a service if the website is difficult to use

You never have to use this website to book with us. Call 0434 889 598 and we will arrange everything over the phone, including talking you through pricing for your vehicle.
